FAQs about
Direct Primary Care
-
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
-
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a healthcare model where patients pay a simple monthly membership fee directly to their primary care provider. This fee covers most primary care services without involving insurance.
-
-
How is DPC different from traditional primary care?
-
In traditional care, doctors bill insurance companies for each visit. In DPC, there are no insurance claims, copays, or deductibles. This allows for longer visits, easier access to your provider, and more personalized care.
-
-
What is included in the monthly membership?
-
Office Visits. Same day or next day care. Longer appointment times. Direct communication with your doctor. Preventative care and chronic disease care management. Most in office procedures (see DPC tab for further information).
-
-
Do you accept insurance?
-
We do not bill insurance. We run on a monthly membership fee for provided services.
-
-
Is DPC Insurance?
-
No, DPC is not insurance. It is a membership-based relationship between you and your primary care doctor. We recommend pairing DPC with either a high deductible or health sharing insurance plan for emergencies, hospitalizations, or specialty care.
-
-
Am I able to use my HSA or FSA to pay for my membership?
-
As of January 1, 2026 you are able to use your HSA/FSA on membership fees. Our fees fall well within the limits.
-
-
What if I need labs, imaging, or medications?
-
Your membership gives you access to discounted labs, imaging and medications at cash price. If you would prefer to use your insurance for these items you can do this as well.
-
-
Can I cancel my membership?
-
We recommend a 3 month minimum. However, we run on a monthly membership and if at anytime you find this isn't right for you, you are able to cancel. There is a one time nonrefundable fee of $99 to initiate membership.
