Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
DPC is a healthcare model that is built to reduce some of the barriers that exist in the current healthcare system. In this model, patient's pay their physician directly a monthly membership fee for primary care services.
2. How does DPC differ from traditional primary care?
Traditional care involves billing the insurance company for services. DPC eliminates this by charging a month fee for direct access to a physician, and therefore, helps improve access and often reduces overall healthcare costs.
3. Is DPC the same as concierge medicine?
No. Where both DPC and concierge medicine prioritize better access to your physician, they differ in a few principles. Concierge medicine typically charges a high fee for access and may also bill the insurance company. Where DPC focuses on an affordable monthly fee with no additional charges to the insurance company.
4. Is insurance required for DPC?
No. DPC does not bill insurance. We accept patients with all types of insurance or without insurance. It is recommended to have at least a high deductible plan for emergencies, hospital and specialty care.
